Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and team-focused Automotive Technician to join our dynamic operation. This individual will play a pivotal role in diagnosing, repairing, and servicing vehicles while effectively collaborating with multiple departments, including Collision, Upfitting, Parts, and Service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to provide comprehensive progress updates on vehicle status, required repairs, and parts needs when requested.
This position prefers ASE Certification, a thorough understanding of vehicle diagnostics and repair procedures, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The successful candidate will ensure seamless communication across departments to maintain workflow efficiency, minimize downtime, and uphold the highest standards of service quality and safety.
Vehicle Diagnostics, Repair & Maintenance
- Perform detailed vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs, ensuring all work is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Identify necessary repairs, replacement parts, and required labor, proactively communicating needs to the appropriate departments.
- Execute mechanical and electrical repairs on a variety of vehicle makes and models in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of diagnostic findings, repairs performed, and additional work recommendations.
- Provide detailed and timely progress reports on each vehicle’s repair status when requested by management or other departments.
- Ensure all repairs meet quality control standards and that completed work is thoroughly tested before vehicle release.
- Adhere to all ASE, OSHA, and manufacturer safety and service guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, following all company policies and procedures.
- Stay up to date with industry advancements, vehicle technology, and best practices through continuous education and training.
- ASE Certification (Automotive Service Excellence) – highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience as an automotive technician in a dealership or auto repair shop.
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of vehicle systems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments, ensuring clear communication and workflow efficiency.
- Experience working with electronic diagnostic tools, repair manuals, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to provide accurate repair estimates and progress reports.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make informed decisions on vehicle repairs.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Additional ASE Certifications in specialized areas (e.g., Brakes, Electrical, Suspension, Engine Performance).
- Familiarity with fleet maintenance, performance modifications, or custom vehicle enhancements.
- Proficiency with digital work order systems and diagnostic software.
